What is OPAT?

The concept behind OPAT is that when we look at the totality of poverty, many feel helpless, but you are NOT! We may not be able to do everything, but each of us can do something to dramatically affect another person or family in a positive way. OPAT provides projects that are as little as a one time $25 donation that can enact a long term, significant impact upon its receiver. You can make a real difference!

One Project at a Time (OPAT) a 501c3 non-profit corporation that recognizes human dignity and equality of all people by assisting those who need help, and those who want to help, through creating programs and projects, opportunities and options, to one person, one family and one community at a time.

According to the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) of 2015 established by the United Nations, over half of the world population does not have access to clean drinking water. In Central America, there has not been any progress in meeting MDG.

We distribute the Sawyer PointONE™ 0.10 Absolute Micron Water Filters. These filters remove all harmful bacteria, parasites and other pathogens found in much of the water in developing countries.

OPAT is actively distributing these filters throughout Central America and in the process of connecting with other countries as well. We identify families and communities with the greatest need and will meet with them, distribute the filters and give them instruction on how to use and backwash their filters so it will last for generations.

Your generous donation of $65 will provide a family, community or school one of these filters, a bucket, backwash syringe and instructions on the proper use and maintenance of the OPAT bucket filter. A follow up visit will be schedule to ensure proper use.
