Nearly one billion people worldwide lack clean drinking water. Water-born illnesses cause a child to die every fifteen seconds. In line with the United Nations Millennium Development goals of 2015, through OPAT you can provide entire communities with clean water through the distribution of water filters that clean up to 1,000,000 gallons of water.
Well over 1 billion people live in housing that does not provide adequate protection for their families from weather nor crime rates which tend to be higher in developing countries. You can provide a safe home for a family that protects their safety and dignity. You may also choose to donate a home in someone's name.
Clean Cooking Stoves
Almost three billion people rely on open fires to cook, leading to the death of four million annually. Burning solid fuels emits toxic fumes into homes & lungs, causes deforestation and contributes to climate change. You can provide a clean cook stove that burns efficiently & cleanly allowing families to avoid this silent killer. Learn more
Providing a quality education helps to break the cycle of poverty. Many children leave school before ever graduating to help work, especially in agricultural areas. This denies them the opportunity to obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to get a better job and live a better life. Donating a scholarship opens doors not once possible for those not able.
Many children still do not receive the necessary vaccinations and routine medical care that is afforded all children in a developed country. This leads to unnecessary sickness and sometimes death from illnesses that have been conquered long ago. Contributing to our Medical Campaign helps protect those most vulnerable to sickness.

Nearly 870 million people suffer from chronic undernourishment. We have all heard, If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime. Through your donation, OPAT will work to educate and provide sustainable food for a minimum of one generation providing one of the most basic necessities.
